Witch and day-walking demon Rachel Morgan has managed to save the demonic ever after from shrinking, but at a high cost. Now strange magic is attacking Cincinnati and the Hollows, causing spells to backfire or go horribly wrong, and the truce between the races, between Inderlander and human, is shattering.
Rachel must stop the occurrences before the undead vampire masters who keep the rest of the undead under control are lost and it becomes all-out supernatural war. However, the only way to do so is through the ancient elven wild magic, which carries its own perils.

10 Amazing Stars!!!!
I’ve only just waited for this book like FOREVER!!! And I wish I could make it last longer but once you start reading, you just can’t put it down!!! It was, as always, AMAZING! It only keeps getting better and better!!! This is one of my top most favourite paranormal series!
I missed Rachel, Jenks, Bis, Trent, Ivy, and all the other main characters of this book! That even includes Al and Newt!
In this sequel, emotions are high! The sexual tension between Trent and Rachel, intense! Even Jenks, just wants them to get it over with…
Ah Jenks, I love him so! I basically feel what Rachel feels… worry about him. Rachel’s character has grown A LOT, I am so proud of her! She worries about everyone but herself. She deserves to be happy!
And Trent, I remembered how much I use to hate him… now, I just completely LOVE him! How time has changed!!! And Rachel has completely changed him!
It’s so obvious they love each other!!!! But they obviously have to fight for it because:
Then there’s Ellasbeth, Trent’s baby mama. She needs to leave them alone!
A strange magic is attacking Cincinnati and the Hollows! There is conspiracy brewing and the Elves are involve…. then, there’s a movement against the undead from the Free Vampires… and the truce between the races, between Inderlander and human, is shattering. But Rachel is not alone this time for the fight… that is, besides Jinx and Ivy and Bis, and of course, Trent, there too is David and the pack, plus the captain of the street force of the FIB, Edden.
The bond of friendship speaks volume always.
I can’t say enough how much I enjoyed this book! Heartwarming, heart wrenching, full on action and suspense that will keep your adrenalin pumping! Oh and the humour! Jenks never disappoints! It was mesmerizing and magical!
There’s gonna be a whole lot of challenge coming for Rachel and Trent… I wish they can have their HEA in peace! And to wait another year for the next book! Sad. But with Kim Harrison superb writing, it’s worth the wait!
