Silvana's Review

This starts years after the ending of Beautiful Disaster with Ellie and Nick ten years older and wiser- that’s what rest of the world sees at least. Ellie is trying to move on with her life  and Nick is a man riddled with regrets and plagued by loneliness.

I enjoyed reading this, it didn’t grab hold of me like the first one did but it was still a great read.  I didn’t feel connected with any of the characters except for Devlin and Maddie, I thought Ellie seemed a lot less mature than in book 1 and she is supposed to be  older here and more sage.  I guess reading this right after finishing the disturbing yet addictive Beautiful Disaster, The beginning was slow however it quickly picked up till the last 20% of the book, where I felt it dragged.

Nick and Ellie grated on my nerves, I will lay the blame for this on the fact that I fell for Devlin and wanted Ellie to choose him. I loved the scenes with the kids, They were such a breath of fresh air.

This series has been for the most part an engrossing and enjoyable read. It was surprising and definitely original- I saw some compare the first book to the movie ‘Cruel Intentions’, and I could see their point when I started, but the premise quickly took on a unique flavor.

3.5 STARS!!!
