Point of No Return (Kathleen Turner #5) by Tiffany Snow

Kathleen Turner wasn’t expecting to fall in love when she came to Indianapolis a year ago, much less with two very different men. And not just any men. Brothers.

Blane Kirk, former SEAL turned attorney, is every woman’s dream man. A playboy who changes women as often as he changes his tie, trying to hold on to Blane could only break Kathleen’s heart.

Commitment is a foreign word to Kade Dennon, assassin-for-hire and genius hacker, and safety is non-existent. A future with Kade would surely end in disaster—for both of them.

Past betrayals come to a head and the choice Kathleen makes could sign her death warrant. Everything’s at stake as Blane, Kade, and Kathleen reach the Point of No Return.

3.5 Stars!

This will be a joint review by us, as our feelings towards this book actually mirrored each other.  I’ll be telling Nance, this part bugged me, or I loved this part and she’ll be “YES!!”  and vice versa. What followed this  were either long rants, or swooning by us. ~~~ Silvana

If we were to rate this based on the writing and  the suspense part,  as well as the hot scenes, it would be 5 Stars!! Our rating above  is based on how much WE enjoyed this final part of the series.

As usual the writing was superb , BUT this book included some parts that were a bit redundant and extreme- The ones where someone wants to kill Kathleen over and over, the woman faced more death threats against her life than a spy during the cold war.

“Sooner or later, you’ll choose,” he whispered. “You’ll want one of us more than you don’t want to hurt the other. And you’ll choose. I want to be the one you can’t live without.”

Finally we get to see Kathleen choose. To see the conclusion of the love triangle is both bitter-sweet and exciting, whilst we cheered for the brother that got his HEA, our hearts broke for the one that didn’t.  The reason is even when it was finally resolved, we felt like one of the brothers’ feelings towards Kathleen were again being exploited and disregarded- Due to this, there was a desire to hit Kathleen and her choice over the head, it was not something that sat well with us.

At the start of this book, there was disappointment on our parts regarding our beloved trio’s actions… Being in love with the three protagonists since the beginning of the series, some of their behaviour in this instalment did not seem in keeping with their characters. We should have kept faith in the genius that is Tiffany Snow, she made sure that the true loyal and brave nature of our favorite brothers, along with their beloved, shone through again.

One supporting character that grated on our nerves is Branna, there was some empathy towards her but we just did not like her.

Kathleen’s HEA was everything we hoped for and everything she deserves- However there was something about the ending that left us wanting, that brother that was left on the side, though not by our lovers but by the storyline.

Despite all this, we could not help but be happy for Kathleen and her choice…  Reading their happy moments was a pleasure, sweet, hot and very romantic.

Love the humor…  This brings to light that you can never dislike Kathleen’s character because she is really sweet and adorable.

This is a series about family as well as it being a romantic thriller, loved the sub-plot dealing with the brothers’ relationship, as much as the suspense and romantic aspects. The moments where they bond and show loyalty to each other, set out hearts aflutter (yes we did just say that),  seeing them act like brothers and their trust in each other grow, was heart warming.

Take care of her. Take care of you.” He swallowed heavily. “I love you both.”

“Ditto, brother,” he said, his voice a low rasp.

So sad to see this series end, it was a great journey. One of our favorites, for sure
