The death of innocence gives birth to evil….

Thirteen year-old Hillary Greyson lived a charmed life until one ill-fated night changed everything. Hurt and betrayed by her own father, she finally confronts her mother for help, only to be turned away, criticized and blamed.

With her innocence lost, Hillary has no one to turn to until she discovers a peculiar friend, an ally she learns to trust…learns to obey.

Frustrated and angry, hurt and dejected, Hillary screams out for help, cries out for compassion.

Hillary just wants to be heard….

Having read book 1 Hillary: Tail of the Dog (Hillary, #1) , I had certain expectations of the second novel; Let me tell you,  Hillary: Flesh and Blood (Hillary, #2)  is like nothing I’ve read before, not in terms of the horror but the intense feelings I experienced while reading. I was so engrossed and the writing was amazing, the book took hold of me and I didn’t want to stop reading; Yet I had to take breaks, just to get my breath back.

We start the book with a glimpse into the childhood of Hillary’s dad and how he met her mother, it’s not pretty; The events that follow are anything but pretty, just horrific. I kept reading thinking it cannot get any worse, I was wrong, it does.

I have to give kudos to the author, for surprising me throughout the book,I didn’t know what to expect and boy was I screaming a few times, NO!! and thinking this is just wrong.

I hated Hillary’s mother, someone in my opinion who is as big of a monster as her dad, I know she was conditioned through years of abuse to act this way, but I still couldn’t help but be revolted by her actions or lack of.

“All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.” (Edmund Burke)

I will read book 3, I’m eager to see how will it end, but first I’m taking a break and reading a romance; Hillary ruined me.

Do I recommend, YES, but only if you have a strong  stomach; the story line and the great writing had me hooked.

About The Author

Angel Gelique

Genre: Horror, Thriller, Paranormal

I am an attorney, wife and mother from Long Island, New York. I’ve always been passionate about reading and writing. It has been my life-long dream to write a novel. Recently I stopped making excuses and finally got started. Writing a few paragraphs a day (if that!), I finally completed my first novel, “Mother,” last year. It has been an amazing, fulfilling experience.I have just completed the final book in my “Hillary” horror trilogy. Contrary to “Mother,” the “Hillary” series is quite sick, twisted and disturbing. “Hillary: Retribution” will be available on Halloween for those of you who have become curious about my little friend (or do I mean, fiend!) Hillary. I don’t know whether I’m happy or sad about no longer having to write about her, but I’m definitely looking forward to my next project!

If you ever give my books a try, I would love to receive your comments, suggestions and/or critique.Happy reading (and writing)!
