Title : YIELD THE NIGHT (Steel & Stone #3)
By : Annette Marie
After surviving a roundtrip to hell, Piper figures she can survive anything. After all, she just lived through the devastating loss of her Consul apprenticeship and a torturous two-month stint at a human boarding school. How much worse could it get?
Well, she wasn’t expecting a group of crazy radicals to burn her home to the ground and take her prisoner.
The Gaians, a.k.a. the crazy radicals, plan to rid Earth of daemons and they need Piper’s help. As if she would help them obliterate the very Consulate system she grew up in, but in exchange for her cooperation, they promise her the answer to all her problems: magic. With her own magic, she could reclaim her apprenticeship, the only future she’s ever wanted. But her magic comes at price—it could kill her.
If she can’t find a way to stop the Gaians’ plans, they’ll destroy everything she’s ever known. If she doesn’t help them, she’ll lose her last chance at everything she’s ever dreamed of. But the greatest danger of all lies within her, and it could very well be the one thing she can’t survive.

More about the Author : Annette Marie
I wrote my first piece of fiction outside a classroom when I was fourteen. Nowadays I shudder to think of it and can’t actually stand to read it as an adult, but it got me started on a crazy road of 3 AM writing sprees, a reputation for daydreaming (how else am I supposed to plot my next scene?), and over one million words written in the last 12 years.
My first stories were all fanfiction. Wait, wait, before
you laugh — remember A) I was 14, and B) fanfiction is like training wheels for a writer. It’s a great environment to learn. With 14 stories, I gained over 900,000 views across nearly 200 chapters. (In case you were about to ask — nope, not sharing my fanfiction pen name. Remember what I said about my early writing making me shudder?)
I graduated to original fiction in my late teens. Fast forward three years of post secondary, one Associate’s Degree in Professional Writing, several terrible “just until I become a paid author” jobs, and a few real “grown-up” jobs later, and I’m finally ready. CHASE THE DARK is my first published novel, released this fall, soon to be followed by Book 2 in the Steel & Stone series in January.
