I have to start this by saying how much I enjoyed the heroine in this book, she was sweet and strong! This book had it all, it was a fast steamy and fun read, had angst though not too much of it and this remained a lighthearted romance throughout- Add to all of that great writing by the talented Laurelin Paige. I loved that it didn’t drag and there were no unnecessary drama just to fill pages.

What I loved about this book:

  • Maddie! As I said before I love me a strong heroine that doesn’t spend most of the book wallowing in self-pity and plagued with doubt. While Maddie did have her doubts, they were extremely warranted.
  • The sexual chemistry between Micah and Maddie and how their relationship developed. I always enjoy a book couple whose relationship I feel emotionally invested in.
  • Micah’s bodyguard Fudge/Chris, loved him as he was one of the funniest and sweetest characters.

What I disliked

  • Micah’s stubbornness and his refusal to acknowledge his true feelings For Maddie! Was very angry with him a few times, however when he finally acknowledged his feelings, I fell in love with him as well!
  • Beaumant, he was an ass, wanted Maddie’s success to be rubbed in his face.

The winner of Best Director was giving his award speech. And it wasn’t Beaumont. This night’s getting better and better.”

  • Lack of epilogue, would loved to have seen how Micah and Maddie deal with his fame and the success she achieves as a film maker.

I totally recommend this book, it’s something I believe many would enjoy!

Laurelin Paige

USA Today Bestselling Author Laurelin Paige is a sucker for a good romance and gets giddy anytime there’s kissing, much to the embarrassment of her three daughters. Her husband doesn’t seem to complain, however. When she isn’t reading or writing sexy stories, she’s probably singing, watching Mad Men and the Walking Dead, or dreaming of Adam Levine. She is represented by the wonderful Bob Diforio of D4EO Literary Agency.

Always You By Missy Johnson Blog Tour and Giveaway

Book: Always You
Author: Missy Johnson
Genre: New Adult Contemporary
Tour Organized by: Indie Sage, LLC

I was thrilled when I was offered a graduate teaching position at the prestigious Tennerson Girls Academy. At twenty-three, this would be my first ‘real’ teaching assignment. Working at the elite boarding school, home to the daughters of some of the wealthiest people in the world, was a great opportunity that I would’ve been stupid to pass up.

One week into my new job, and I suddenly had no idea why I chose high school…I was a seventeen year old boy once, I knew how teenage girls behaved.

You can’t even imagine the hell of trying to teach thirty, hormonal driven seventeen year olds who have been cooped up, away from any male contact.

I could handle the whispers every time I entered the room. I could even handle the obvious attempts at gaining my attention. What I couldn’t handle was her…

Rich bitches and way too many rules. Was it any wonder that I hated school?

Add to that the lack of male contact, and I was going insane. Like literally. I wasn’t used to this. A year ago I was normal. I had a boyfriend, friends and a loving family. There is nothing normal about me anymore, and nobody here lets me forget that.

My name is Wrenn, and I’m only here because my aunt took me in after what happened, but my aunt also happens to be the headmistress of this academy…Can you see my problem?

I’m hated for my lack of money, and I’m hated for who my Aunt is.

Then he arrived. Dalton Reed. My new history teacher.

Slowly, he helped me see that even in the worst situations, there is always hope.

Wrenn was the last person I expected to open the door. My mouth dropped. That oh-so-short black dress she was wearing was almost criminal. She looked fucking amazing. Her creamy white legs seemingly went on forever, lengthened by a pair of impossibly high stilettos. She grinned at me, wrapping a strand of hair around her finger as she waited for me to react. React was right. She wasn’t playing fair.
How the hell was I going to get through tonight with her in the room? How could I not stare at her the entire time? What red-blooded man wouldn’t be eyeing her and thinking of all the dirty things he’d like to do to her?
“Hey,” I finally said, finding my voice.
“Hi. Come in.” She leaned against the wall as I eased past her, moving at a deliberately slow pace, making the most of our contact. She breathed heavily, which made me smile. I can play that game as well as you.

Death of the Body (Crossing Death #1) by Rick Chiantaretto

Death of the Body Cover

I grew up in a world of magic. By the time I was ten I understood nature, talked to the trees, and listened to the wind. When the kingdom of men conquered my town, I was murdered by one of my own—the betrayer of my kind. But I didn’t stay dead.

I woke to find myself in a strange new world called Los Angeles. The only keys to the life I remembered were my father’s ring, my unique abilities, and the onslaught of demons that seemed hell-bent on finding me. Now I must find out who I really am, protect my friends, and get back to my beloved hometown of Orenda.

A Riveting and Unique Read

This is a mix of Urban Fantasy and horror. Some scenes were pretty bloody but at the same time I couldn’t stop “gawking” at it. This is not for the faint of heart! Some parts reminded me of The Exorcist, some parts Supernatural (think yellow eye demon … sorry I’m not talking about Dean), and some parts “The Kingkiller Chronicles” by Patrick Rothfuss .

The plot was full of unexpected twists and turns, and the story easily pulled me right in. It was a pretty gripping intense read. Some scenes were very written and I think they would go really well on the big screen. The whispering tree, the water-like glass, the glittering floating glasses… and the list goes on.

I did have one tiny bit of problem with it. It seemed like the protagonist always had an out, some came about quite unexpectedly and maybe a bit too easy. Several time he’s completely cornered, but was always saved because of so and so (to not give too much away). But, one could also argue that that’s why it’s unexpected.

I would recommend this to anyone that doesn’t mind a bit of gore. The journey that you would go through with it is worth it.

Silvana's Review

***ARC provided by author in exchange for an honest review***

Not enough Stars to describe how much I enjoyed this book!

There is no better feeling than opening a book and getting lost in its pages, wanting it to go on and on but  find that you finished it in one sitting and while sad to see it end, you are richer for having read it. This is what happened with me while reading the first two books in the Spiral of Bliss Series- ‘Arouse’ and ‘Allure’- and now ‘Awaken’. This series is everything a story should be, believable, amazingly written with a poetic feel, sensual and HOT!

Book 3 Awaken has proven to be just as amazing as the first 2 books if not better, the conclusion to professor West and his beauty Olivia’s journey did not disappoint and delivered in spades! It picked up where Allure left off and was written in dual POVs, beautifully so.

Nina Lane managed to make me believe in Dean and Olivia’s love… Marriage is work and these two did work and faced so many obstacles to get to where they want to be, their struggles seemed so real and at times heartbreaking, There were tender moments between the two that made me like I was intruding on a real couple and invading their privacy. There also seemed to be moments where you think “are these two ever going to catch a break?’ but in spite of everything they remained true and true till the end!

Dean and Olivia were indeed each others’ soul mates!

In Awaken they have to deal with being apart while having to deal with outside forces trying to destroy the professor’s career. I felt their anguish during their time away from each other and had a lump to the throat while reading the professor’s thoughts and seeing his pain for having to part from his beloved.

Professor West still struggles with wanting to protect Olivia from everything and taking control not seeing that she has grown in leaps and bounds since they first met, she is stronger, more confident and assured whether in herself or in her husband! She deals with issues that try to pull her back into her past and away from her husband with strength and dignity!

I HAVE To mention the sex scenes, SCORCHING! Lately in a lot of books, I just skip the sex scenes all together, feeling like I am reading the same thing over and over again. In Awaken not ashamed to say, I went to re-read a few things, HOT and an incredible chemistry between the main protagonists……

The road to the HEA or HOME was not easy one but it was an amazing journey!

Another couple that I am happy to say are one of my favorites, wanted them happy, smiled when they did and hurt for them while wanting to hurt the people trying to get in their way. I experienced every emotion while reading, not too many books can inspire that. To say that I cannot wait to see what Nina Lane will come up with next is an understatement, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Thanks To Ehn from CrazyaboutBookz for taking the time to make me those wonderful teasers!

✨🌟 CasperFitz’s Review🌟✨

★★★✩ Rome Stars!

This is the third book of the series “Marked Men”, the first being Rule, whose story left a big impression on me. Now it’s Rome, Rule’s brother. He is a military man who is dealing with tragic events that happened to him while at war causing nightmares, he deals with the real world by being a complete jerk and now it is his turn to fall in love.

Rome – I just wanted to bury my head in the sand and go back to a point in time that felt comfortable and familiar. I hated feeling like a visitor in my own life, and no matter what I told myself when I woke up in the morning each day, I couldn’t shake feeling like everything I had come back to after my contract with the army was up was a life that belonged to someone else. My family didn’t feel right. The new dynamic in my relationship with Rule didn’t feel right. Trying to get used to Shaw being taken care of by my wayward and reckless little brother didn’t feel right. Crashing with Nash while I tried to get my shit straight didn’t feel right. Not having a job lined up or any clear direction of how to support myself doing something other than fighting a war quite possibly felt the most wrong out of it all.

And I couldn’t have picked a way better girl for him than Cora, she is feisty and definitely fearless and fun!!!! She has issues, but she didn’t dwell on them for  long.

Rome started off a little bit dull, with his grumpy self, didn’t make him very likeable but you couldn’t help but love him .  Fortunately his character did a turnaround 50% through the book.  An all out alpha, who knows what he has going for him and is totally committed.

I didn’t get their connection at first… then everything seems to just happen so fast that you cannot help rooting for them and to find their HEA.

The story is a bit slow but consistent. And like all the other 2 books before this, it has its own angsty twist near the end that brought me to tears. However nothing stands in the way of true love, life isn’t perfect but their love is!

Cora-” I see all of it, Rome, and whatever it ends up looking like is already perfect. This”– I put my hand over his heart and made sure he could feel me squeeze him from the inside– “is as perfect as it gets.  You’re my guy, no one else does to me or for me what you do, and that’s all there is to it.  I didn’t know what perfect meant until you.”
“My turn to save him” That’s what we did. We saved each other. He forced me to see the living in fear got me nowhere and that holding out for some unobtainable ideal of perfection was just silly. I made him realize that whoever he wanted to be and whatever he chose to do was enough. He didn’t have to be anything anymore. He wasn’t perfect, I wasn’t perfect, but the love we had for each other….nothing was more perfect than that.

It is well written and as for the hot factor, it will not disappoint, it is definitely hot!

More Than Her By Jay Mclean Blog Tour

“For every action there is an equal or opposite reaction.”

For every choice you make there are rewards,

or there are consequences.

It was my choice to walk away the first time.

And my choice to chase her the second.

But sometimes you don’t get a choice,

and all you get are the consequences.

“Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength,

while loving someone deeply gives you courage.”

Unless that someone is Logan Matthews.

Because loving him didn’t give me

the strength to walk away.

It didn’t give me

the courage to fight for him.

And when it was over,

all it gave me was a broken heart.

He kissed me once, softly. ” I want to feel everywhere he’s felt. I want to replace the memory of his touch with mine. I don’t want a single part of your body to no know my hands, do you understand?” His voice was low, husky, filled with desire.

My eyes drifted shut at his words. A sound of agreement leaves my mouth. He started kissing my jaw. “Has he kissed you here?” he whispered, his words muffled.

I nodded.

His lips moved from my jaw and worked their way down to my neck, kissing, licking, and slightly sucking. I could fell his hard-on against my stomach. One of the his hands moved to cup the back of my head, his finger curled into my hair, softly pulling and tilting my head back to give him better access.

I moaned.

His other hand moved under my shirt, the back of his fingers skimming my stomach before I felt him grip my side, just under my breast. I wasn’t wearing a bra.

He released his grip on my hair just enough that my head fell forward; he kissed me again, just once. Then I felt his thumb rub against my already straining nipple. He made a moaning sound from deep in his throat, pushing into me. “Has he touched here?”

I nodded again.

He replaced his thumb with his hand, covering my entire breast, gently squeezing.

“Oh my God,” I whispered. My chest heaved with every breath. My legs squeezed together trying to find some form of relief.

His other hand moved from my head, to under my shirt and onto my bare back. Then he started to slide it lower, and lower, slowly making it’s way under my panties and onto my ass.

“Fucking shit, ” he spat out, grabbing a handful. “Please don’t tell me he’s touched you here?”

I kept quiet.

“Fuck.” He knew the meaning of my silence.

IN The Firelight By Sibylla Matilde BLOG TOUR AND GIVEAWAY

Title: In the Firelight
Author: Sibylla Matilde
Date of publication: December 19, 2013
Blog tour Dates: December 30th-January 6th

***** Mature Content, Sexual Situations, Adult Situations, Strong Language *****

She found him on a snowy night. He sparked her desires and inflamed her dreams.

Independent and feisty, Shea Madison has a tussle on her hands. Living in and loving her quiet little corner of Montana, she’s fiercely determined to fight a real estate developer trying to turn her quaint little mountain town into a touristy ski resort. So, when an outsider shows up to study the effects on the area, she instantly attempts to sway his impression… even if it means a little harmless flirting with the enticing visitor.

Rhys Weland’s charade has one purpose—to bring the locals around to the idea of the resort, primarily the ringleader, Ms. Shea Madison. Embroiled in his deception, he’s stunned by the feelings she draws from deep inside him. Her integrity and sincerity quickly have him second-guessing his twisted morals. Her spirit arouses his soul. Her sensuality steals his breath.

In the dark of the night, in the warmth of the fire, the passion smoldering between them combusts. But just when it all seems to make sense, one small stubborn mistake shreds the fragile bond between them. Will an impetuous act reignite their flame, or will their love vanish like sparks in the air?

★★★★ SEXY STARS!!!!
Rhys Weland works on a multi-million dollar development firm as an architect but who also charms and screws his way through resistance to the company’s projects. Now he is being sent to  a little town called Snowcreek to charm and screw Shea Madison, a feisty and independent woman, who made it her mission to keep their project out!

Rhys pictured Shea to be a lumberjack woman, with hairy upper lips and big buck teeth and unibrow…. but what he found was a beautiful, curvy little, hazel-eyed, foul-mouthed angel.

This is a sexy, hot, funny, romantic novel that is beautifully written, with just a little angst around the climax of the story.

Rhys definitely doesn’t play nice and you’ll grow to love him. Shea might be a little bit of a potty mouth but she’s got her head planted firmly on her shoulders,  she’s real and I love her independence.

Sex was hot, though the “F” word is spoken like really a lot and the banter between the two was enjoyable!

Excerpt from Chapter 13 – The Dinner Rhys knitted his brow thoughtfully as their waitress came over to get their order. Shea looked up and muttered a very unladylike, “Aw, shit,” at the young girl who appeared at the table. Rhys looked up. Hmm, she looked relatively familiar. He’d met her at the store, and again at the bar. What was her name? Brittany? No, wait… Trinity. And her eyes were wide as she took in the sight of Shea and Rhys at the table before her. “Um, hey… Shea…” and turning to Rhys, she flushed deeply. “Rhys… You guys are, like… on a date or something?” Shea groaned and planted her forehead in her palm, causing Rhys to smile. “Um, yeah… took me a while, but I finally talked her into dinner. Gotta feed her now and then, you know. I can’t just keep her tied to the bed all the time.” Shea’s head shot up in shock, and Trinity looked as though she was about to faint. “Shea,” Rhys continued as though he hadn’t just said anything remotely scintillating, “do you know what you’d like?” He looked over at her stunned expression. “New York steak or filet mignon? Or, what’s the special tonight?” “Um…” Trinity gasped, “Prime rib.” “Sounds good to me. How about you, sweetheart?” he grinned back over at her. She was still stunned, but he could see a flicker of anger beginning to burn in her eyes. God, she was fun to rile up. “Prime rib is fine,” she said shortly. “And a Glacier Select Ale, please. No glass…” Rhys nodded at her selection of the local microbrew. “Same for me, please.” He shot Trinity a smile as she rushed off to the kitchen. “Why are you always doing that to me?” Shea demanded as soon as the young girl had left their table. “Is it like your goal in life to mortify me in front of that girl?” Rhys chuckled and reached across the table for her hand, smoothing his fingertips over her painted nails. Remembering how these hands had clenched against his shoulders, tangled in his hair, stroked his cock. Beautiful little hands. “Honestly?” “No, I want you to lie to me,” Shea sarcastically ground out. “What the fuck? Yes, honestly.” “I love to see your eyes sparkle like they do when you get all feisty. The flush in your cheeks.” His voice lowered. “The way you draw in a deep breath and it pushes your tits out so beautifully. You’re incredibly sexy when you’re mad.”

Sibylla Matilde Author

Sibylla Matilde grew up in the mountain valleys of Southwest Montana exploring the dusty Old West gold country on the back of a horse. She attended a two-room schoolhouse beginning in 1st grade & had the same teacher until she changed schools after 7th. Beginning at about age 12, Sibylla discovered historical romance, feeding off of work of Jude Deveraux & Lisa Kleypas. She loves a book that can make the reader run the gamut of emotions, from the sweet glow of new love to gut-wrenching heartache. She is a true romantic & always has stories floating around in her head, living in a fantasyland until she writes them down to free them.

Music is her emotional trigger. Growing up with a Wagnarian-loving mother, Sibylla was raised to treasure music that digs deep into the psyche, drawing out elation, sorrow, grief, desire. The soundtrack to her life includes many genres spanning centuries. She looooooooves Thirty Seconds to Mars (rather obsessively, actually… but, really, how can you NOT be crazy about this guy!? Jared Leto. Shhh. ) & pimps them out to all her friends through Spotify. She also delights in Met Opera HD broadcasts at her local movie theater & hopes (listening Met?) to someday see Diana Damrau reprise her role as Mozart’s Queen of the Night in Die Zauberflöte.

Sibylla lives with her husband and hero who saved her from her own calamitous, young-adult self. He makes her laugh daily, even when things are tough. He’s proved to her that love really can heal a shattered soul. In 18 years, they have never had a fight, although argue regularly with their two teenage kids who have, unfortunately, inherited their father’s quick wit (unfortunate as it is a quick wit that Sibylla, herself, definitely does not possess – there is a reason she is a writer & not a stand-up comedian). They live a quiet life with their two weird little rescued Chiweenies. Wait… teenagers & little yap-dogs? OK, maybe not so quiet. Social Media Links
